Blackjack rules
Introduction Blackjack is a popular game among gamblers around the world, partly because it is mathematically beatable. The odds are less random than the spin of a roulette wheel, or the pull of a slot machine handle. Blackjack is played with a standard 52 card deck and players try to beat the house (the dealer), and not each other. Card values in Blackjack - 2-9 = Face value
- 10, Jack, Queen, King = 10
- Aces = 1 or 11
How to win You win when your total card value is closer to 21 than the dealer's total card value, without exceeding 21. If you get a total card value over 21, you go bust and lose no matter what the dealer's cards are. If you and the dealer have the same total card value (17 and up), it's a push and your bet is returned to you. Hitting a Blackjack The best possible starting hand is a Blackjack (also called a natural 21). The only way two cards can have a value of 21 is if one of them is an ace, and the other is a 10-value card. A Blackjack beats all hands except another Blackjack. If you get a Blackjack, and the dealer has 4 cards that give a total value of 21, you win. If you both have a Blackjack, it's a push.
